Ishbel L MacDonald

ISHBEL MacDONALD

Drawn to the world of art at a young age, Ishbel MacDonald studied at the internationally renowned Glasgow School of Art with contemporary Scottish artists like Robert Stewart and Henry Hellier.  While there is no doubt that the subdued mistiness of the Highlands influences Ishbel's creative style, we find her now mixing the colours and vibrancy of the Bahamas with her Scottish roots and the results are simply spectacular.

Although Ishbel paints Bahamian Islandscapes and she loves to capture the Fish of the Caribbean, she is perhaps best known for her Floral Watercolours.  The flowers of the Bahamas provide endless inspiration for Ishbel's Magnolias, Bauhinias, Anemonies and other exotic botannical delights.  The beauty of her washes, the range of her tones, the magic of her imagery - we can only hope that Ishbel MacDonald's paintings reach out and touch you in a real and meaningful way.
